Who's Stuck? You're Stuck? I've Got You Covered!

It’s Mayi Video Time!!!

Today we’re talking about the most beautiful, simple solution to getting stuff done, as in not having a Moleskin full of ideas, but actually shipping your work.

So why are you here?

I know you have a metaphorical North Star? The one that keeps you up all night.

You have big dreams. You’ve set hairy audacious goals. You’ve made big #girlboss plans. But! When it comes to taking action, you get stuck.

Who’s stuck? You’re stuck? Happens to the best of us. And I’ve got you covered!

Sometimes the hardest part is figuring out where to start. There are so many things you want to create, but getting past that stage of “overwhelm” can be tough.

That’s why I’m here.

In this video I’m going to show you where to start + how to get yourself motivated to reach the finish line. I double pinky promise you this isn’t another one of those 21-Get-Your-Ass-In-Shape plans you see on the internet. (Hint: My solution is totally doable + easy, you’ll see!)

Click play to get this party started! (And watch some silly outtakes.)

So, what are you waiting for? Go do ONE of something easy. What will it be? Tell me, in the comments.

I’m excited.

Thank you so much for watching + sharing!!!

  1. Thank you Mayi!! Those are good words to hear, action, stop over planning and just do something! This can be a struggle for me, I sometimes get stuck in the planning/preparing stages. I will make it a goal to do 1 thing everyday. Thanks for your video 🙂

  2. Ooh! This will help me get something accomplished today. I have a stack of cards that need to go out – a stack!! Followed by phone calls. I’m pretty sure I can do ONE!!

I really want to wrap my head around ONE phone call a day. That defeats “Not enough time” and “I need to create a script” I already did one step – printing my list. That was easy because I didn’t have to talk to anyone to do that. LOL

P.S. I love your #owningmyweird!! If you have a blog post about that, I’d love to read it! Have a super day!! Kath*

  3. Hey, Mayi! I’m so glad you’re back with the weekly videos! I’ve missed them! So I’m working on an opt-in for my email list. I wanted to come up with something new and different from other artists, but it’s just been stopping me from taking action so I am going to paint something and offer it as a free downloadable phone wallpaper for signing up to my list. Painting it now!

  4. This is exactly what I needed this week Mayi, thank you! I always procrastinate on writing my blog posts, so I’m going to write 1 paragraph each day. I also want to start making videos, but I need to get used to being on camera, so I want to do 1 short practice video each day to get used to talking to the camera. Even just 30 seconds or a minute talking about anything. I think that might help get me moving on it.

I’m loving your videos btw, their very inspiring and gets me thinking how I could make my own videos fun by injecting my own weirdness 🙂

    1. Heather, I’m trying to learn how to get comfortable on video too. One thing I’m finding helps is dancing! Probably that “action” thing. It brings up my energy so I don’t have to do 100 tries before I get something to edit. Good luck!! You can do it!! Wanna talk about #owningmyweird, check out this one: https://youtu.be/zxMeOor5Fgc (Who knows, maybe I’ll take it down if I feel like I have something better soon. LOL)

      1. Kathleen, dancing is a great idea! To get moving and get the nervousness out of my body 🙂 I love your video btw! Those types of videos are the best, where people are having fun and being silly. It made me smile. That’s why I love Mayi’s videos too, and I want to make people smile with my videos too 🙂

  5. Good advice, I get it, I get what you are saying… HOWEVER … yep thre it goes, I’m going there … all caps … HOWEVER … what if you are stuck, but you are doing … I’m doing … everyday I’m doing the videos, I’m doing the blog posts, I’m reaching out, I’m doing my best in the job/industry I’m in, I’m creating and sharing… and yet I feel stuck like I just can’t get over that last little hump that will allow me to fly……
I’ve put in my time, doing all the those things you have to do get started, and I’m wondering how to get past the “I’m almost there… but I’m still a little stuck…”

    1. I totally hear you. I wouldn’t call that stuck Katina. You’re not stuck. Stuck is not moving. You are rolling. You’re just not where you think you need to be or where you want to be. Which can be frustrating. I get it. Really do.

      My question to you is:

      1. Are you reinventing + reimagining your business at every stage? What worked in the beginning to get you moving is not necessarily (almost never the case) what’s gonna get you over the last little hump. Make sure you are fine tuning + tweaking to keep moving. Busy busy busy work doesn’t always translate to effective work.

      2. Are you being gentle with yourself? We can be such over-achieveres sometimes. Worst, compare ourselves with the stranger on the left. Be sure to applaud every step of the journey. Give yourself a hug for every milestone.

      3. Have you defined what getting there even means? What is this thing over the clouds that you want but can’t catch. What does it look like? How would it make you feel to attain it? Why do you want it? Be specific.

Hope these questions help + get you on the right track.

  6. YASSS!

I always say one bite at a time. If I try to chew the whole thing at once, I choke & die…and that is not what I want to do. But I often slip back into trying to do everything at once, & that shuts me down completely.

Thanks for the happy reframe of my EVERYTHING HAS TO HAPPEN NOW!!! mindset. You’re my favourite 🙂

  7. Great video my 2.5 year old twins watched it beside me…they kept saying BEBE!!!! BEBE!!! Olivia is their star…just letting you know. My plan is to launch an offer and spread the word on Saturday…then continue to work on my new product…all before brunch for my best friend’s birthday.

  8. OMG!!! Mayi, you are incredible, and baby O’ <3 come on! thanks for this fantastic video!
I'm so stuck that I've threw everything out and now I guess that I have to start over somewhere… gosh! These days I'm trying to leave things fixed and arranged, I had a "to do/deal" mountain of papers, so tall, that i had to split it in three in order to work with it. Fortunately, one part and a half are already done, piano piano… I'll stay tuned,

  9. Hola Mayi,
