TGIN
Thank goodness it’s Friday (or whatever day of the week you’re catching this).
Today’s SEO unfriendly Friday Video Time episode is dedicated to all those ladies (or gentz) who can’t wait for the arrival of the weekend. The folks who day dream all week about what they’re going to eat + where they’re going to go. The same people who you don’t want to bump into on Monday because they’re wearing their Grumpy pj’s + they mean it.
This one’s for you.
Heads up though, homework is included + expected. Come on! it’s Friday, it’s not like if it’s your birthday. Unless of course it is, in which case, forget about my homework. Go eat a cupcake instead.

Thank you…yet again, for your fabulous Friday video time. How very inspiring you are. Thank you for sharing and for keeping me company during my breakfast. Its not a great day for me today so thank you for holding my hand this morning. Much Love xxxx
Much love to you took Rachel. xo!
You know you are an inspiration, right?
Since a few months ago life as showed me that there’s no other real moment than the present one. So I stopped controlling and anticipating and started accepting things as they are. And I’m in love with my life right now! Even the “not so good” parts.
Love you!
I hope I can be
I also have the tendency to try to control, but like you said life it’s much more fun when you let go. Love YOU!
I love Mondays but I’m not a workaholic. I actually am very keen of my off time. I simply love my work. So I guess I love every day equaly.
Funny, I was writting and listening to you at the same time, and you just spoke of the people who love every day…ih ih, we’re in sync!
hahahahahah good for you Andreia. You’re a master at this. So glad you could jump into the conversation still + show us all it’s possible.
Today I’ve been able to see the FVT on a Friday. And not just any Friday, the right one! But sometimes I do miss that mark… Life gets in between, and so I have to catch up with it later. I guess that’s also about living in the present as it comes… You really don’t mind, do you Mayi? After all, either it is on a Friday or in any other day of the week, I can’t go without watching all and every single FVT!!!
I used to cry a lot about the past and the sorrow that it brought me. I used to say that it got me to where I am, and made me what I’ve becomed. And that’s all true. But what I had trouble realising, was that living in the past and keeping on blaming it for everything, wasn’t allowing me to enjoy the present and make the choices I had ahead properly. Then, with the help of my “hubby” and being sick of it all, one day I suddenly got it! I had to learn from the past, yes, but let go of it, so I could really live the present. And, oh, that was the best thing I ever did! I became so much stronger and happier! Nowadays, I look back on the past and I say “ok, that happened. What’s the lesson? Got it. Now lets move on!”. And then I live the present moment fully!!!
On the other hand, I must confess that sometimes I do worry about the future, and in some topics more than others. But there are things where that’s unavoidable, for your choices today will have consequences in the future, and are you up for it? With the crisis that we’re facing here in Portugal, all things that come with extra expenses (or even regular ones) must be carefully thought, and that means to try and imagine different possibilities of one’s future. We never know what’s up ahead, but we can’t live with our heads stick on the sand, and we must consider both the good and the bad outcome of the situations before we make a decision. For instance, I’ve always said I’d like to be a mum before I was 30, for I’d wan’t to have loads of energy to accompany my children as they grow. I’m currently 28 and a 1/2, and my mommy clock is really crying out loud that he’s ready for it (even despite the age). But I can’t help but wonder if I’ll be able to provide for them if due to this crisis our lives takes a bad turn. We have friends and family all around having babies without a single care for this matter, but the fact is that I just can not switch the button off on these concerns…
So, am I alowed to get in the TGIN?
XOXO
Cathy
(sorry for the big testament… guess I really had a lot on my mind about this subject…)
Of course you’re allowed. All you must do is have a deep desire to be happy + you seem to have that covered
Thanks for spilling open Cathy. It’s beautiful to hear all these personal stories, they are what makes us human. Beautiful.
Thank you Mayi!

I feel at one with NOW. I love NOW because you can make anything happen NOW especially when you get up off your couch + make your dreams come true.

Kim + TGIN = BFFF hehehehe. Love it.
Hahahaha! What a great video! Loved the TGIN!
And that last bit of the video…. I am still laughing and clapping my hands
hahahahaha i though i went a little too far there, so glad you liked it hehehe.
Thank you for anothet great FVT! I try my best to live each momment and fight the anxiety of future times and decisions. It’s not easy but i always say to myself that I can only handle what’s in front of me so there’s no point in stay stuck on something that I cannot do right now, or a problem i cannot solve right now. Even in my “second job” crafty projects, I have a lot of momments where i just wish I could take the day of my real work to sew or craft, or I just wish it was already weekend but then I force myself to think what can I do today with the times and resources I have at this momment, and so I make plans of tinny little things I can acomplish during my lunch hour or at night after girls are asleep.
But although I do try to live for today I still love fridays and weekends and hate mondays!
Oh yeah I can totally sympathize. Sometimes I catch myself day-dreaming, “Oh if I only did have that family commitment” or “ohhh if only I didn’t have this + that responsibility I could do this + that”. But that mindset it’s too destructive because it puts us in the victim sit. Instead it’s we have to learn to make the best out of every moment.
Do you realize I look forward to FVT as much as I look forward to TGIF? As you were talking I wrote “Thank Goodness it’s NOW” across my daily planner (I can’t live without it). Thank you for all of your positive mojo. My 5 year plan ends with me being able to work out of my house full time. All of the positivie energy I can capture sure helps when working 80+ hours a week. (full time job and 2 part time businesses) YOU ROCK!
hahahahahahaha I might need to quote you on that one April. You’re too awesome!
I love living in the now. I had never picked a special day of the week. Whether I’m creating some great spinning fiber or knitting socks my biz lets me have fun doing what I enjoy most …..animals and fiber. Sure there are things that I don’t enjoy so much like shoveling manure, throwing around bales of hay and moving snow from the barn doors in the winter. I just chalk it up to my exercise for the day ( I don’t worry about getting a workout on those days). Even if I’m not writing or creating items for the biz I can enjoy my rescued animals ……alpacas can be quite cute when you spend time with them, the silly goats jumping around, playing or my soft cuddley angora rabbits that I insist everyone try holding one once. It truely is a wonderful life.
Oh WAOOO you really are the NOW Queen. I need to borrow I few tips myself
Mayi, you’re so right — post it notes have magical powers! I use them all the time. The other thing I do is write things on the bathroom mirror with dry erase markers!
Ohhhhh you’re kidding. My roommate in college use to do her homework with mirrors. I always though it was a little creepy but she was smart as hel, so it must be good for you hehehehe.
Baby, awesome video. I laughed like crazy in my office during the encore. LOVE U NOW AND FOR ALL OUR LIVES, BEAUTIFUL WIFEY.
I love YOU baby. (I LOVE it when you surprise me by leaving comments on the blog. It’s better than flowers + chocolates + all the cupcakes
jijijij. TE AMO POR SIEMPRE.
Haha! I’m still laughing from your little bit at the end….
First of all – what is up with both you and April’s makeup this week – it looks awesome!! You guys are both glowing
I love this idea of writing notes + quotes to yourself about staying in the present . . . will you share some of the quotes that you use with us?
Have fun! xox.steph
You’re joking right? My make up it’s going down hill. I though I’d lost my make-up mojo + that I need to hire a professional to fix me up for this videos because I looked like I rolled out of bed. Thanks for making me feel pretty again hehehehe.
Ohhh + my favorite quote is in Spanish unfortunately, it goes like this: “Momento present, moment maravilloso” (which translates to, “Present moment” wonderful moment”.
Love love love this video Mayi! Its exactly what I like to teach to my readers on my blog. If you’re always looking back or looking forward, you miss your life entirely! You can’t just let life happen to you, you need to take control and live the happy fulfilling life you want.
xoxo
Kristal
You know it sister
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh my Goddess!!! Can I eat you up, please!?
Love from a fellow B-school babe <3
La botas!!! Eres la mejor! Insisto!!!
I like it! It’s hard to put into practice though. I have a Monday through Friday job in addition to my home business–it’s hard to want to be at work doing other people’s *stuff* when I CRAVE my “real life” at night and on the weekends.
Will try though!
Kristi aka Boho Bear,
I soooooo feel you! I am the breadwinner in my home & still work full
Time while running an art biz! It ain’t easy! I’d so rather be painting or drawing!
I write a new affirmation in my planner everyday that I can see all day
As I’m working. I check that thing so often & every time I do, I am uplifted
By that affirmation. Hope it helps
Good advice, Kyia! I’m definitely not *down* about having to work–it’s what enables me to even do all my creative stuff, so it’s a good thing. I will be happy when the creative biz is my full-time job though–for sure!
It’s hard to keep this in mind most of the time, so I made a machine embroidery to look at every day

Mayi!
The Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most, he said “Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
Much Love,
Graziella
Much Love,
Graziellla

I love this Friday video & couldn’t agree with you more! I recently started
a line in my artwork called Peacefirmations where I post encouraging &
Empowering affirmations
For my Facebook, Twitter & newsletter fans everyday. I thought I was doing
Them a service, but I was getting uplifted & thankful too!
Pure peace!!! Thank you again for your AWESOMENESS !!
Hi Mayi!

Dominika
Linda semana!!!
I like NOW because it’s the time when everything gets done. One can never be sure what exactly will happen and what will be done in the future, so though plans should be made, it’s NOW that everything becomes real.
What I do to keep myself focused on NOW? I think I just surround myself with my work and ideas for next projects and illustrations – then some magical energy from them just keeps on floating towards me and I’m eager to work till I drop! I need to stop myself if I want to get enough sleep before going to work in the morning.
My work keeps me living in NOW, because I love to see how everything gets done, from a very first line of a sketch to the last photo or a scan where I show my creation to others
It’s a bit of never-ending work but I would gladly do it for the rest of my life!
I’ve missed your webinar
Will you do another one someday?
