There are certain historic memories that change you.

Like waking up to the sound of my dad juicing, no alarm clock needed. The smell of granny making eggnog. Always being the shortest person in class. How hard it was for me to memorize poems, rivers, capitals, until I turned them into song. Who else did that?

I’m talking about some of the things that shaped me as a kid in today’s video.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN: What things shaped you as a kid? Please share in the comments.

  1. Hi Mayi! I went to the Sagrado Corazón too! here in México. I was really good at playing softball and I was a pitcher. Those were the best years when I was a kid. I didn´t mind to start playing in a cold Sunday at 8 am or going to train with hot weather. It was a passion that I shared with my dad who was the coach of my team for many years.

  2. I was shaped by being bullied as a kid. I was bullied by one of my classmates and then NOT supported by my mom, who told me that if I got into a fight at school, she would beat me when I got home. So I react badly in situations where I feel cornered, between a “rock and a hard place,” as it were. I have, however, learned to identify this emotion so that I can deal with it better now that I’m older.
